  • When do I propose? When do you Propose?
If you are looking for answers to any of these questions:

    * When do I pop the question?
    * How should I choose the time of year to propose?
    * Should I propose at a time that is only significant to me and my girlfriend?
    * Should I propose at a family gathering?
    * Should I propose at a public place?
    * Should I propose on her birthday?
    * Should I propose on Christmas or New Years?
    * Should I propose on Valentines Day?
    * What are the Pros and Cons on proposing on a holiday?
    * Whats the weirdest time you've heard of someone proposing?

See the engagement specialist explain all these questions... Its a lengthy video but it does explain all the above questions. Visit the source of the article for the video: http://popgoesthequestion.com

Or you can ask the world your engagement and wedding questions on our sister site: OurWeddingProposal.com

Spring? Summer? Fall? Winter? I suppose it depends on how long you think the planning of the wedding would take. Do you know what time of year your bride would want to get married? I personally do not think this is big deal since the engagement could last months or years before the wedding is planned. So if you know the wedding planning will take about a year you propose the same season you'd like to get married in.

But is your bride ready to tie the knot right after the proposal? Do you think you might get engaged and be heading off to elope right away? This is something to consider when your getting your proposal together.

How long before we actually tie the knot? Did she tell me she wanted a winter/summer wedding? Think about it.

  • Making your engagement proposal a lasting memory
The traditional "on bended knee" proposal is tame and predictable, most women prefer a more creative marriage proposal. A unique proposal will stay with her forever, and the memory of a traditional one will fade over time. Traditional proposals aren't for everyone. If fact most would agree the engagement must be unique to the couple and to make that event special and memorable you must remember these three key elements: Setting, Ring, and of course the big question. The key to making your engagement memorable is to make one of these three factors a surprise and the more surprises you can throw at her the bigger engagement memory becomes.

Setting: You need to pick a surprise location for the future bride to be. Keeping the setting a surprise will not give her any time to think forward and know what your about to ask her.

Ring: Once you show the ring it becomes the center of attention. If you use a unique ring or keep it in a unique box or location it will add to the element of surprise. Hiding the ring in a box that doesn't look like a ring box.

Question: Rather than the usual "down on one knee" approach and the will you marry me question to follow. Try making a quick speech about how you fell in love first before popping the big question! Tell her what it is that made you fall in love.

When planning a proposal it is important to remember that not all these factors needs to be creative to make your proposal memorable and unique. An unusual proposal is something that is unique to the couple and might seem plain and ordinary to others.

    Enlisting help from others

Some proposals will require extra help from family members, friends, coworkers etc... It is important that you can trust these individuals not to let the secret get out...

Or if the secret gets out it is important that the ones helping you also help to try and change the subject or not give too much information away.

    Recreations

Every couple has a special location. Where they first met, first date, favorite movie or even a special hobby they both enjoy. Making a unique proposal can be as simple as recreating one of these events.
    Warnings about going to far

Before popping the question in the most unique way it is important to know your woman will consider an over the top proposal to be romantic. A woman who treasures tradition might not appreciate this type of proposal, whereas a traditional woman who values spontaneity may enjoy an outrageous event. Unique marriage proposals must be carefully laid out and judged carefully, you don't want the bride to be to question if the potential groom really knows her. Done properly a unique and creative proposal can be an exciting and memorable moment in the couple's relationship as they start a new life together.

  • Picking out the perfect ring.
Having trouble picking out the perfect ring?

What if she picked out the exact ring she wanted? How's this for the best article of the century? Just let your future wife pick from the internet diamond stores like:
    Abazias Diamonds
    Reeds.com
There are so many online that let you create your own ring. She can pick out all the details and you will know exactly which ring to get!

I believe your future fiancee should know your planning to propose but how you propose should still be a secret. Using this method of picking out the perfect ring she gets exactly what she wants and you don't have to go to the store and try on rings for a day or two. Once you take the time to visit the jewelry store she is going to expect a ring real soon. Using the internet makes it more of a dream and not reality just yet!

Another option is to have a fund set aside for the ring and pick up a promise ring of some sort, something she might wear after the real ring shows up. You could give her the pre engagement ring as an engagement ring and then break the news to her that this is just a filler ring and she has $X to spend on the real thing. This way she gets the ring she wants. Remember it will be on her finger for the rest of her life!

  • How to propose to your girl.
As hard as it is to understand a woman's heart and mind, so it is hard to prepare for one of the beautiful moments of your life: asking your love to marry you.

    Planning Process

When its time to start the planning process you need to take into account these few steps.
What do you both enjoy doing together? Throughout your relationship you've experienced all the things you enjoy doing together or places you both like to visit. All these experiences can give you an excellent start in planning out your proposal. You can get a location, subject or even a full idea just by considering all these places and events you've done together. All people will drop hints at their favorite place, things etc... She might have said to you:

    * I love Europe, I love chocolate, White roses are my favorite, I could sit on the beach for days...
    *

All these hints will create a guide for you in the planning stages. When you think of your perfect proposal what do you see? Try and think of this as not just for her but also something you will enjoy and remember for the rest of your life too.

Next you need to put this plan into action.

You've finally decided on your 'perfect proposal' and now need to make this idea a reality.
Cost: How much is this idea of yours going to cost? Make sure you don't plan out too much proposal and not be able to afford it. Some of the best proposals didn't cost much money so if your planning out too much think about cutting back.

    * Do you need help with this proposal? Ask friends and family to get involved if you need help. Most will want to be part of it, video taping, setting it up etc...
    * And finally make sure you plan something on the day of the proposal. You need to make sure this event you've planned out doesn't get ruined because she decided to go shopping. Most women wouldn't consider it a lie if you tell them your going to dinner but actually do something else. It's a lie they will be willing to excuse once they know why you did it.

Now that you know the basics, post your ideas in the forum and search for new ideas on the site. Someone else's idea might spark your imagination to boost your own idea.

  • Ideas for a wedding proposal.
If you've ever thought about proposing to your future wife I'm sure you thought about the best possible way to do it. In fact I'm sure your interested in finding out new and exciting ways to shock her if your reading this site. I'm a pilot so I'd like to do something with a flying machine (Airplane, helicopter, balloon, spaceship etc...) or at least something with an aerial view. Please post your proposal stories here or your thoughts on a good proposal story.

    My Current ideas:

    1. On top of the Rockefeller Center in NYC. We had an incredible time there and weren't expecting to have so much fun. We took a photo of us kissing and talked about that photo for months afterward. I think another photo of better quality will last a lifetime. I of course plan to try and get it on video. I want to be able to see it 20 years from now.

    2. Have a limo pick her up. The driver would give her a new dress and tell her to get ready. She would be caught up in the surprise. The driver would drive her around for 30 mins or so and finally meet me at the perfect location to make my move! I haven't thought of where that location would be yet. I saw this on a TV show but it wasn't a proposal it was an anniversary.

    3. Make an aerial banner for a banner towing airplane and go to dinner on the beach while the plane flew by.

    4. Fly her to one of the Island of the Bahamas for a romantic weekend and propose on the beach. I did this one already and it didn't work so well so as romantic as it might be I'm not too sold on this idea.

What do you think? Do you have any over the top ideas? I'd like to hear them.

  • HER FATHER SAID YES!!
August 23rd-27th of 2007 I went to visit friends and family in Connecticut (CT) for a High School reunion but in reality I mostly wanted a perfect excuse to travel to CT without Laura and be able to spend some time with her father. Luckily I was able to do just that! I knew together we would visit her family over the holidays but I couldn't see any reason I'd be in New England without her until I heard about the reunion. I really wanted to bring her with me but since she only has a week vacation left this year of course we'd both prefer to go during the holidays.

Her father has given me the OK for his daughters hand in marriage. I'm so excited!!

My original plan was to fly to New York (NYC) and have my friend meet me and bring me to CT after I spent some time with her father. Due to time constraints and pricing, I decided to fly into Providence, RI (PVD) instead and ask her father a little closer to the actual proposal (Early 2008) and come up with some excuse to travel then. Plans change as we all know and on Thursday my friend asked me to go to NYC with him. It was completely random...

  • HELP... I can't keep a Secret!
Secrets... When you share everything with your loved one its soooo hard to keep a secret! I've had this website up for almost a month ourweddingproposal.com and I tell my girl everything, except for this site. I don't understand how people keep secrets from one another? Some people cheat, others are just a closed book. I'm a very sharing, jaw wagging individual!! Everyday after work we both tell each other how our day went and we share most of our interesting stories throughout the day...

Laura kept a secret from me back in December 07. She threw a 30th birthday surprise party for me and boy did she trick me. I fell for her story hook line and sinker. Just after I bought my car we planned to drive to Orlando to visit Sea World and visit some friends. But before we left for the road trip we went to "Laura's friends house" to pick up some free tickets to Universal Studios. As we got close to her friends house I thought I had been there before and when we arrived at the house I said to her that I know our friend Pope lives close by... I had no clue even at the door and WOW once the door opened and I saw our friends I was in shock... I still can't believe she pulled off such a great surprise! Most of my local friends where there and the party was definitely a success! Everything except for turning 30 years young....

So tell me whats the secret? Have you kept any secrets from your loved ones? I can't even sleep some nights thinking about what I'm going to change to the website. Go see my site and add to the news section. Write a story, comment or just browse. I've spent so many hours and would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

  • Searching the Internet.
Why is it so hard to get people to come to a site? I've put links to every imaginable site on the internet and I think I've gone through the entire internet twice now! There has to be an easier way to get people to visit my site and give me ideas. If I get enough ideas I'm sure to make this an engagement proposal never to forget. I don't think thats ever possible but i like to be a little over dramatic!
