Plan it early
You need to agree on a day, time and place as early as possible.  If your inviting kids you may want to plan for a day wedding, if your aiming to dance the night away an evening wedding is more your style.  If you family and friends will be traveling from out of town look for a season with lower air fares. If your families have large get togethers over certain holidays you can plan around that time of year.

You need to try and mesh your style with your normal way of life.

They can always take care of certain areas, flowers, DJs, food etc... Whatever it is they help out with be thankful.

Budget planning will give you a sense of exactely what your able to afford and what your not.
