Take a look at all the videos we've collected with engagement ideas. Browse around and hopefully one will spark your imagination! There not all videos! But this should get your creative ideas flowing.

  1. Take out a full-page ad in a newspaper you know your girlfriend reads daily.
  2. Arrange a surprise proposal with a street caricaturist. Have him sketch a picture of you two with word bubbles. Yours will read, "Will you Marry Me?", and hers will say, "Yes!"
  3. Pay the divers at an aquarium to put on a proposal show inside their biggest fish tank. Give them hand-written signs that say "Will You Marry Me?" to hold up against the glass. Or try it underwater
  4. Send your girlfriend on a treasure hunt. Start with a clue at home, then send her on a tour of your froxavorite spots all over town. When she gets to the last hint, the prize should be you on one knee.
  5. Go out for a night of dancing, and ask the DJ or band leader to pass you the mic so that you can dedicate a song and propose on the dance floor.
  6. Hire a skywriter to spell your proposal for everyone around to see.
  7. Flying anytime soon? Use the plane's loud-speaker system (of course, run your plan by the flight attendants first) and propose 35,000 feet in the air.
  8. Or do it in a smaller airplane! Head to your local airport and get a discovery flight. Ask her in the air!
  9. Movie buffs? Ask your neighborhood theater to run an ad featuring your proposal and make sure you get there in time for the previews.
  10. Draw a bath and place a floating candle or rubber ducky in the middle with a ring tied around its neck. Make a path of roses leading to the tub. (And make sure the drain is well-plugged!)
  11. Tie a red velvet ribbon from one spot in your home to another. Attach little notes recalling perfect moments in your relationship along the way. You wait at the last stop, ring in hand.
  12. Take the scavenger hunt high-tech: send your mate a text message leading her to a secret spot. Keep her engaged by text messaging her sweet nothings along the way (and directions of course), as you lead her to you, on bended knee.
  13. We had to add this one: Create a Web page declaring your love and intentions. Leave your sweetie a clue with the Web address written on it -- don't say a word. After the proposal has been officially accepted (which of course it will be!), he or she can proudly send the page to friends and family.
  14. Make the box with her ring a selection on the desert tray at your favorite restaurant. Put together a gift basket of yummy delicacies -- the best chocolate, caviar, coffee -- and hide the ring among the presents (in its box, so it doesn't get lost in the goodies). Ask the wait staff to write, "Will you marry me?" in chocolate sauce around the rim of his or her dessert plate.
  15. Ask a baker to make a cake with the proposal written in frosting. Have him display it in the store front and suggest a little window-shopping to your girlfriend.
  16. Create a personalize fortune cookie with your own proposal message.
  17.  Spell your proposal out in glow-in-the-dark star stickers on your ceiling. Get into bed, turn the lights off, and wait for the inevitable gasp.
  18. Spell out your proposal with refrigerator magnets.
  19. Scratch your proposal into the frost on his or her car's windshield.
  20. If your girlfriend is a teacher, sneak into her classroom before school starts and write your proposal on the blackboard. Stay hiding in the coat closet or right outside the room for the moment she arrives.
  21. Get a ring size chart and ask your girlfriend to look up her size. When she accuses you of ruining the surprise that you're shopping for a ring, say, "Okay, try this one instead," and show her that you've already shopped for a ring.
  22. During your annual Halloween prep, challenge her to a pumpkin carving contest and carve the words "Marry Me" in your pumpkin.
  23. Write "Will You Marry Me?" on the underside of a kite and take flight one warm, breezy afternoon.
  24. Play Hangman and have the phrase be "Marry Me."
  25. If you love to hit the beach, head down a few hours before her and write your proposal with large white large rocks in the sand. Go to the beach and casually build a sandcastle (at a safe distance from the ocean!). Ignore her annoyance that you're spending so much time on a sand castle, and place the ring on the highest turret. Then invite her to admire your handiwork.
  26. Gather your families together for a summer barbecue and make your proposal a family affair.
  27. Make your own Message in a bottle . On the night before a beach day you've planned, write a love poem on a piece of parchment paper, roll it into an antique bottle with a cork, and bury it in a well marked spot in the sand near your towels. Be sure you "find" the bottle as you dig together -- and have the ring at the ready. If you're artistically inclined or just like to make things with your own two hands, integrate something you've made into the proposal. For example, if you have woodworking skills, present the ring in a special hand-carved jewelry box.
  28. Buy a pet that she has always wanted (bunny, kitten, puppy) and loosely tie the ring around its neck. Or, substitute a stuffed animal -- still cute, but less maintenance! Propose with your pet!
  29. Tell your girlfriend you want to make a time capsule together to bury and dig up years into the future. As you're gathering the items, say it wouldn't be complete without a picture of the moment you two got engaged! Have a Polaroid camera ready to take that shot right after you present her with the ring.
  30. Rent a Vespa scooter and invite your girlfriend for a ride, but remind her to be safe and wear a helmet. Put the ring in the helmet box and then zip around town to celebrate.
  31. Meet for a drink at a posh hotel bar. When it's time to go, casually mention that you've already reserved a room for the night. When you open the hotel room door, have roses, candles, and champagne all set up -- everything for a perfect surprise proposal.
  32. Make a list of ten reasons you'd like to marry your beloved. Read them to him or her in front of a crowd, have a singing telegram deliver them, or send them written on note cards one by one over the course of a day (or ten!), with the last card arriving via personal messenger (you!).
  33. Want to really surprise your girlfriend? Cut out the bottom of a big box, wrap it with pretty paper and ribbon, and attach a card that says, "What's inside the box is a gift to last a lifetime." "Deliver" yourself to his or her office or front door.
  34. Make her ring the surprise in a box of Cracker Jacks.
  35. Write your proposal in sunscreen on your stomach, so that your tan will "stencil in" the words.
  36. Make her feel like a movie star and set your proposal to the scene of her favorite romantic movie. You could arrange your own Pretty Woman moment (the finale, of course) -- rent a white limo and climb through the moonroof with flowers in hand to proclaim your love as you arrive at her place.
  37. Freeze the ring in an ice cube and drop it in her glass, while you are at your favorite restaurant. When she realizes what is in her drink, get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.
  38. Pretend to drop your napkin in front of her at a restaurant. Ask her to pick it up, and while she is not looking, drop the ring in her wine glass. When she sees the ring, propose to her.
  39. Purchase fortune cookies and take out the fortunes with a pair of tweezers. Swap the fortunes with a piece of paper that says, "Will you marry me?" Then bring her to your favorite Chinese restaurant and have the waiter bring out her fortune after the meal.
  40. Bring her to one of her favorite restaurants. Make a menu with your proposal printed inside of it. Then have the waiter deliver the menu to your sweetie. As she opens it, ask for her hand in marriage.
  41. Have breakfast in bed together on a Sunday morning. Make her a beautiful breakfast with scrambled eggs, fruit, and mimosas. After you are done eating, tell her there is just one thing left you have to give her, and pull out the ring.
  42. Send her a one rose a day for 11 consecutive days. On the 12th day, she will be expecting the last rose to complete the dozen. Instead, show up with a dozen more roses, an engagement ring and ask her to marry you. Book a room for the two of you at a fancy hotel. Decorate it with flower petals and scented candles. Put rose petals all over the room, leading into the bathtub. Give her a robe, and ask her to look in the pocket. After she finds the ring, propose. Then give her a relaxing massage in the tub.
  43. Make a rose petal trail from the front door to the bedroom. Create a heart shape with rose petals on the bed, and put the ring in the middle. Tell her to go see what is in your heart.
  44. Deliver one rose to her every hour for 11 hours. On the 12th hour show up to meet her and propose.
  45. If she is a thrill seeker, take her skydiving. After you land, tell her if you made it through this you can make it through anything. Pull out a ring from your pocket and propose.
  46. Arrange a sunset hot air balloon ride for her. As you watch the beautiful sky, tell her how much you love her and ask her to marry you.
  47. Go Bungee jumping. When she is at the top of the cliff, pull out a sign that says "Will you marry me?" at the botto. See wildplay style. Just after she finishes bungee jumping!
  48. Bring her back to the spot where you went on your first date. Tell her that ever since then, the relationship has grown so much and you hope she feels the same way. Then ask her to marry you.
  49. Propose to her on Christmas. Put the ring in a box, and hang it like an ornament on the tree. After all the presents have been opened, tell her there is one more special gift for her. Direct her to the ornament, and get down on your knees to propose.
  50. Put the ring in several layers of boxes so that each box fits inside another to create an illusion of a giant present. Have her unwrap it until she finally gets to the ring, and ask her to marry you.
  51. Write an advertisement slide, and ask the movie theater to show it as a preview before the movie. Get to the theater early, and let her watch the previews. When it gets to her slide, get down on one knee and propose.
  52. Take her on a surprise trip somewhere special. Blindfold her so she has no idea where she is going. When you get to the spot, take off the blindfold and ask her to marry you.
  53. Write a marriage proposal in the sand for her while you are at the beach. Then call her over and let her see what you wrote.
  54. Hire a plane to write your proposal in the sky. Tell her to look up and watch what the plane is writing.
